PREBALLET

This is a great program for the beginner to the advanced dancer and provides a nurturing and fun learning environment.

The learning experience elevates the ballet tradition embracing both the fun and discipline of dance. The dancer will learn dance terms and the building blocks of movement to progress onto more advanced levels of dance training.

This program has ONE fabulous and huge performance each year.

PROBALLET

The dancer takes two classes per week and focuses on the beautiful elements of ballet movement, posture, weight transfer, large and small poses as well as allegro. Dancers begin turns and establish the base of ballet for future dance classes. The criteria is 2 hours a week.

Ballet progresses the basic elements of Beginner Ballet and is further developed with the use of demi pointe. The range of basic steps is expanded, with more emphasis on linking steps together, with more repetitions. There is added emphasis on the coordination of all of the parts of the body. The tempo for many basic steps is gradually increased, and pirouettes are introduced

PRO DANCE PROGRAM

Our Pro Dance Program is for students who wish to train more extensively and participate in the grand finale at our very own HipaKids Show.

Students who audition for the Ballet course to progress more rapidly in other dance forms, while encouraging fluidity of movement and strengthening the dancer's overall abilities and presentation will be given an opportunity to audition for character roles.Auditions are open to anyone interested in entering the program. Students may also take part in extra choreographic works in formations such as: solos, duos, trios or other groups. These dancers will work alternate sundays for 2 hours to participate at the Grand Finale.

Circus Workshop :

Hula hoops and more! A popular workshop incorporating partner and small group acro balance, hula hoop tricks and hoop juggling. A hit with holiday programs and OOHSC.

Dance Expression Session :

A creative dance workshop that draws on dance and theatre, focusses on freedom and creativity, and gently encourages kids to get creative in their movement.

Game On, Let's Play :

A jam-packed program filled with interactive, movement-based games and creative engagement. And a few hula hoops of course!

Hula Hoop Dance :

Move yourself to the music! An engaging class focused on music, movement and play, combining group and individual games, hoop dance and skill development.

Hula Hoop Fit : Time to Work It!

A fast paced hoopercise class including skill development, team games, hoop relays and world record breaking attempts.

Hula Hoop Making :

There is only one thing almost as fun as hula hooping – and that’s making hula hoops! Add some craft to your OOHSC or holiday program! Participants create their own hula hoop then learn how to spin it.

Hula Hoop Dance Choreography :

It’s one thing to learn some cool hula hoop tricks, and another thing to make a hula hoop dance routine! Kids will learn a hula hoop dance routine and develop their own hoop dance choreo in small groups too. A great option for kids in Out of Hours School Care.
